Chris
Magness is an associate trainer of Competence
HR. and lead consultant of IQ Centre
LLC, a higher education services provider
registered in Oman and in operation
throughout the AGCC.
Chris Magness is an associate member
of Oakleigh consultancy and has most
recently completed projects for the
British University in Dubai, Heriot
Watt University (Dubai), and CERT (Abu
Dhabi).
Chris holds a Master’s Degree
(Exon) coupled with a life long experience
in education & management, several
years in the AGCC and most recently
five years in Oman, Chris has held a
number of posts at senior level involving
management of personnel, materials development
and institutional structuring of which
the following relate to the AGCC;

Senior materials developer, Directorate
of Civil Aviation, Saudi Arabia.

Senior materials specialist for the
United Nations agency,International
Telecommunications Union (ITU), Geneva,
on projects in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait.

of Training, British Aerospace. On
projects in Saudi Arabia and AGCC.

Language and curriculum consultant
for the Ministry of Education UAE
on behalf of the University of Surry
(Roehampton UK). Project: UAE Education
Reform, Vision 2020.

Director for the Centre for British
Teachers (CfBT) Oman.
In
Britain, Chris has worked as a lecturer
in a number of educational institutions;
University of Surry, University of Exeter,
University of Brighton, University of
Sussex and internationally as a consultant
for the British Council (Specialist Tours)
in Algeria, China, Serbia, Hungary, Poland
and Turkey amongst others.
Chris has written some twenty-eight published
books on English Language, English Language
Teaching, and Technical English. These
works have either been published by Penguin,
Nelson, Mary Glasgow or made available
through the United Nations Shareware system.
Chris has produced a wide variety of in-house
materials for client institutions ranging
from two-day workshop/seminars in language
and management, to year long foundation
courses chiefly through his role as Director
of the London Centre (UK). He has conducted
1-2 day workshops with Competence HR LLC
on management skills.
His extensive and rich experience in the
field of education & industry enables
him to relate to the participants and
provide them with practical examples.
His interactive and participatory approach
enables the delegates to drop inhibitions
and gain maximum benefits from his workshops
in line with their objectives.
