Keith
Simmons is a Grad. I. Fire Eng and has
also a number of Fire safety and Risk
assessment related courses to his credit.
Keith Simmons
has worked in the capacity of Station
Commander at Hampshire Fire & Rescue
Service from 1971 to 2000 handling the
responsibility for all the aspects Fire
Safety, Operations and Training. Since
retirement from this service he has
been self employed running a Fire &
Safety business and has many satisfied
clients to his credit. His work has
predominantly been fire risk assessments,
fire safety training, planning and building
design, applications and fire investigation
throughout the UK and Middle East.
Keith Simmons
has been carrying out fire training
and fire risk assessments throughout
the UK, France, Oman, Abu Dhabi, Dubai
and Cyprus. He has a served as a Lecturer
to Royal Navy Fire Fighting Schools
– Whale Island & Horsea Island,
Lecturer to Professional and Volunteer
Fire-fighters on Fire Safety, Arson
Prevention and Fire Investigation Procedures,
Associate Lecturer/Instructor to the
Fire Safety Engineering College, Sultanate
of Oman and Fire Training Officer to
Gasco and Takreer Oil Companies in Abu
Dhabi.
Currently
he is the Managing Director of Fire
Safety 2000 Ltd
He has
been involved and directly responsible
for all aspects of fire safety in a
number of large developments including
Hotels, Superstores, Port Solent and
its Marina, Meridian Centre Shopping
Malls, Portsmouth University, Queen
Elizabeth Hospital, St Mary`s Hospital,
Portsmouth, The Innovation Office/factory
Centre at Langstone Gate Industrial
Park in Havant and many others.
He has
also been responsible for carrying out
fire safety inspections under The Fire
Precautions Act 1971, issuing Fire Certificates
where appropriate and the completion
of Fire Risk Assessments under the more
recent Fire Precautions (Workplace)
Regulations 1999, which include a wide
variety of premises including two major
Portsmouth Theatres, The Kings Theatre
and The New Royal Theatre.
Being specialised
in Fire Investigation he has also carried
out many on scene investigations and
frequently attended court to give evidence
as an expert witness.
