(Eleven years with Citibank –
AVP and three years with Mashreq bank
as VP). He has an expertise in Sales
Management, Distribution Management,
Customer Service and Quality, Business
Process Engineering and Development
and Delivery of Training across all
levels including senior management.
In the
last two years, he has been the preferred
Consultant/ Trainer to top banks in
UAE/ Middle East (Dubai Bank, Qatar
Banking and Training Institute, Mashreqbank,
ABN AMRO Bank, National Bank of Dubai,
RAKBANK, Commercial Bank of Dubai, Abu
Dhabi Commercial Bank, National Commercial
Bank –KSA and Arab Bank). Shanker
is also the Regional Training Consultant
for VISA International. Has been appointed
Regional Leadership Trainer at ABN AMRO
Bank.

Shanker
developed a unique workshop called “How
Do Customers Buy?” The program
approaches the sales process from a
Customer’s point of view.
While at
Citibank, Shanker, in association with
Harvard Business School Professors,
has delivered programs on “Behavioural
Simulation” to Management Associates
and senior management participants across
Asia –Pacific/ Middle East.
Shanker
executed a strategic change at Mashreqbank
to move the business paradigm from ‘Volume’
to ‘Value’. This change
involves the use of segmentation strategies,
technology and information about a defined
market at the point of sale/service
to maximize Customer Value while optimising
resources.
Established
an “Assessment Centre” at
Mashreqbank to evaluate and identify
‘Training Needs’ and ‘Performance
Management’.
While at
Mashreqbank as Vice President, Shanker
was certified as a Change Management
Consultant and Coach. Not only did Shanker
provide one-on-one coaching to three
Regional and District Managers, he also
taught ‘Coaching and Mentoring
Skills’ to 8 Assistant Vice President
level colleagues. They in turn used
these skills to coach, counsel and mentor
Branch Managers.
